We all know how monumental the contribution of songs has been to the success of Hindi movies. Final spirit and soul of those songs would not have been possible without the passion and meticulous artistry of music directors, arrangers and musicians. The evening of Aug 19th intended to felicitate noted Saxophone and Concert Flute player Shyamraj.
"Jharokha- Rewind-Rejoice-Relive with Madhushree" began with the backing of Mr. Ashok Kacker and also it was not possible without the support of Vakrangee as title sponsor.
The evening commenced with some of Madhushree's popular songs. After the brief flirting with songs of the modern times, Madhushree and team Swar Aalap moved backwards in time to render songs from the vintage era.
Thanks to veteran comedian Johnny Lever who entertained the audience and kept them active. Another high-point of the evening came in the form a beautiful jugalbandi between singer on stage and musician Raju Dhumal on his instrument Shehnayi.
A pleasant surprise came in the form of Singer Sushma Shrestha, who sang one of her songs sung as a child artist – "Tera mujhse hai pehle ka" (Aa Gale Lag Jaa' 73).
Bollywood music will continue to live on!!!
